Available Scholarship Programs

Applicants can formally indicate their interest in funding directly during the online admissions application process.

1. Undergraduate Scholarships

2. Graduate Scholarships

• Graduate Scholarship for Foreign Students (GSFS):

Benefits: Full tuition fee coverage for up to four semesters and a monthly stipend.

• SNU President Fellowship Program (SPF): Specialized for PhD applicants who currently serve as teaching or instructional staff at universities in developing countries.

Benefits: Full tuition fee coverage, monthly living allowance, round-trip airfare, health insurance, Korean language training, and child-care support.

Understanding Admission Tracks

SNU categorizes international applicants into two separate admission pathways based on nationality and educational history:

International Admission I

• Both the applicant and both parents must be foreign citizens (non-Korean).
• Applicants who previously held Korean citizenship must officially renounce it before the application deadline.

International Admission II

• Applicants who have completed their entire primary and secondary education (and a Bachelor’s degree for graduate applicants) completely outside of South Korea.
• North Korean refugees are also eligible under this category.

Note: Qualifications obtained via GED, homeschooling, or cyber learning are strictly not accepted for either category.

Language & Admission Requirements

Language Proficiency

Applicants must submit official proof of either English or Korean language proficiency meeting the following minimum thresholds:

• English Options: IELTS 6.0 or higher / TOEFL iBT 80 or higher / TEPS 551 or higher
• Korean Option: TOPIK Level 3 or higher

Graduate Track I :Online Form, Personal Statement/Study Plan, 2 Recommendation Letters,Degree Certificate/Transcripts, Nationality Proof (Self & Parents).

Optional Documents: Standardized test scores (SAT, ACT, AP, IB, A-Level, etc.), additional language certificates (HSK, JLPT, DELF, etc.), thesis abstracts, or portfolios (required for Fine Arts/Music).

How to Apply

2. Access the Portal: Visit the official SNU admissions portal during the open window (July 6–9, 2026).
3. Complete the Forms: Fill out the online application, upload your Personal Statement and Study Plan, and submit the contact details for your recommenders.
4. Opt-in for Funding: Ensure you explicitly check the scholarship consideration option on your application.
5. Pay & Submit: Pay the online application fee and finalize your submission before the deadline.
6. Post-Admission Actions: If selected as a preliminary admitted applicant, you must submit original hardcopy documents alongside required Apostille or Embassy authentications.
